Students continue with the HVAC installation of air conditioning systems. The basic refrigeration system is covered as well as major refrigeration components and their functions. This involves learning proper brazing techniques, low and high voltage wiring, system evacuation and proper refrigerant charging. Refrigerant reclaim is emphasized and HVAC I and II should prepare the student for refrigerant certification in compliance with EPA Section 608 of the Federal Clean Air Act.
