The Career Paths for the Teaching Profession program is a one-half day program. Students will take their academic classes at their own high school. The seminar days are housed at The Defiance College. This is a senior-only program designed for students planning to pursue a teaching degree in college.

Enrollment Requirements:
- 8 credits required for admission
- Appropriate dress for the classroom
- Successful completion of Algebra I
   or equivalent
- Passed all parts of OGT
- Overall GPA of 2.5 or higher
- 2 letters of recommendation (1 from a teacher)
- On track to complete college academic core
- Entrance interview
- Must have own transportatio

Certification Opportunity:
Basic First Aid Certification
Communicable Disease, Detection & Prevention
Child Abuse Detection & Prevention

Articulation Agreements/Tech Prep/Dual Enrollment Opportunities:
Partnership with The Defiance College
   - potential to earn a minimum of 3 or more college credits
Articulation agreements are in place with local colleges
Curriculum has a Tech Prep career pathway

Further Education:
Four-year degree in the teacher education field

Career Opportunities:
Average annual salary is $31,000 - $61,000
